About Us
On April 3rd 1992 God gave Pastor Rodney Samuels, a dream. A dream about a place that he'd never heard of before in Victoria, called Ballarat. At the time he and his family were living in Sydney NSW, close to family and friends, and connected to a church they loved. But when God speaks, He speaks, and there was no doubt that the dream was from Him. It was only months earlier that Daphne Samuels, his wife was saying 'I feel we're going to be moving interstate'.
Spying out the land.
So in July of the same year, Rodney, Daphne and their 5 kids loaded their Nissan Urvan and travelled to this place called Ballarat to "spy out the land". In the two weeks of their visit they experienced the worst weather they had ever, ever, felt in their lives. Cold like the eskimos and rain like the tropics - it seemed like they were getting every reason to stay in what they knew. But the family had resolved that this is what God was calling them to and nothing would stop His plan from being worked out.
Moving. Lock, stock and barrel.
And His plan was worked out. God held the sale of their family home until just the right time - making available the best price. He also sent a family, Tony, Theresa and their 4 kids to help establish and build the fellowship. Our Christian Fellowship began on March 14th 1993 under the name of Christian Life Church. In 2008 our name was changed to Breakthrough Worship Centre, because, that's what we are.
