A lot of things in life change... as we learn more, experience new things, and just get older. There are however some things that never change. The vision at Breakthrough Worship Centre is one of those things - not because God isn't still speaking, but because He has spoken.
Below is our vision in detail, please read through the vision statement to get a better understanding of the heart of Breakthrough Worship Centre.
Vision Statement:
To build a community spirit of love, trust and confidence: by spiritual and practical means; always upholding the standards of God's word. "Teach my people to love", is our mandate from the Lord.
1. Whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them.
2. No matter what your past has been, God can heal you, and gives us the opportunity to be accepted, forgiven and loved.
3. We are committed to see people come to salvation, be healed and brought to wholeness in every area of their lives.
4. We commit ourselves to love people always, under any circumstances, with no exception, and that no matter how miserably they have failed or will fail, unreserved forgiveness will be theirs for the asking, with no bitter taste left in anybody's mouth.
5. Today, the Church of Jesus Christ needs to make a bold commitment to love people, and then dedicate itself to fulfilling that commitment. Our whole lifestyle should tell people, "If you come around here, we're going to love you no matter who you are, or what you've done, or how you smell or behave, we are going to love you. No matter what we find out about you in the future, either good or bad, our commitment will not change.
6. My message to our Church is: We are going to love and accept people, and if anyone does not want to love people, then they are in the wrong place, because this Church is going to love people. I believe that we will gain the trust of people when we accept and forgive them unconditionally.
7. We can't give up on people until God does - and He won't.
8. We must know that we can blow it, and still be accepted, and loved.
9. If people cannot be healed in our congregation, then where should we send them?
10. As a Christian there is no weak link, we are to uphold and support each other. Jesus accepts us, though we have much in our lives that offends His Holiness.
11. In Ephesians 4:32, we are commanded to be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, God forgave us.
12. We are to release one another from our own personal judgment. This does not mean that we approve, or agree with what the person has done, or said, but that we will not act as his or her judge.
13. Romans 12:19. The Lord says, "It is mine to avenge, I will repay". Luke 6:37 tells us never to criticise or condemn, or it will come back on you. Go easy on others; then they do the same for you.
14. Jesus said "We are the salt of the earth". Our presence should season the world to make it more tolerable. Again, He said, "You are the light in the world", that we are to glow in the darkness to give vision to the world.
15. I, as a pastor am not obliged to get people into heaven, that is the work of Jesus, but I am obliged firstly to accepting people just as they are and loving them, and secondly, to bring them to ministry readiness by teaching them to do the same, to help Christians to start living in the light of the truth, for the closer we draw to the light, the shorter the shadow. This is the picture of the good shepherd in Psalm 23. May we always remember what we were before Jesus found us.
16. With God's help, we want to see Breakthrough Worship Centre be a centre of love designed for the healing of broken people.
17. Programs will be developed to effectively facilitate a ministry of the members, but our priority is to give ourselves to the community.
18. Our emphasis is on worshipping God, equipping His people and sharing His love with each other, and reaching beyond.
19. We are motivated by the fact that there are scores of people who are hurting, or are in need of love and wholeness. We are not in the world to compete, but to change priorities.
20. At times the correct answer will not help; all your neighbour needs is a cup of tea to drink, and an arm around his or her shoulder. Someone to listen and care. Someone to offer the greatest gift of all. "LOVE".
"Love Never Fails" (1 Corinthians 13:8a)
